In the newsletter, Charlie writes:
Like its predecessor, Collared Aracari, Boat-billed Flycatcher (Megarynchus pitangua) was photographed during spring break of this year, when Todd took a trip to the Costa Rican jungles and forests to work with researchers. He saw a total of 180 different species of birds during the trip, and of the photographs he took, Todd admittedly favors today’s featured feisty and feathered friend. Don’t fret, though—this little guy sure looks angry, but the birds Todd photographs for the series are only captured momentarily for the sake of research, before being released. It’s that vulnerable moment when the birds are first caught that Todd explores in the Ornithological Photographs series.
