Collector Sera Roach, one of the winners of our fifth anniversary giveaway, shared this sweet story of baby’s first artwork:
When I bought Jason Polan’s 50 (+1 for good luck) Giraffes [above, left] print, I was nine months pregnant and living with my husband in my parent’s basement.  We were waiting for our house to be built and storing our belongings in every nook and cranny in their home.
You can imagine money and space was tight.  When the nesting urge kicked into high gear, I was unable to setup a nursery or purchase much of anything. But when I saw the giraffe print, it inspired me to surround our baby with art.  I bought the print, propped it up in our room and was comforted because a creative and calm environment for our baby was underway. Plus, it was affordable and took up very little space!
We did get into our house right before the birth of our son. The only things we set up in his room were the changing station and a few pieces of beauty, including the giraffe print. On the day our son was born, we took photos of family meeting him in the nursery. The giraffe print is forever included in those precious recorded memories.
